What is Malware, and why is it probably infecting your machine?

You're probably on this site because you're experiencing problems with your computer, it seems a bit (or a lot) slower than it used to be, and your homepage on Internet Explorer has probably changed.  Perhaps something else has got into your machine, and you want some help getting rid of it?

Read this article for a full and frank explaination of what Malware is, how it can affect your machine, and how to get rid of it and actually PROTECT against it.

And before you ask - no, your anti-virus software (eg Norton) probably won't get rid of it.  So you need to know how to get rid, and get rid for good. Oh, did I mention there's free tools inside?

So then, you're interested in knowing more.  Great!  Let's cut straight to the chase.  Malware (Spyware / Adware, it has many names and there are many types!!) is BAD.  It slows down your machine, sapping your available bandwidth (that's the amount of info you can cram down the phoneline at once), and keeps your machine busy doing stuff it really shouldn't be.

Malware can come in many shapes and sizes.  You know those oh so cool adverts for smileys that make a noise when you move you mouse over them?  Malware.  You know those toolbars that claim to "enhance your browsing experience"?  Yeah, malware.  Did you notice something weird installing itself on your machine?  Yeah, that's malware too.

The problem is, it's everywhere... and most people just don't notice it until it's too late.  I see that many clients machines with that much malware on it takes literally hours to remove it all and get it all cleaned up.  So, I'm mounting a one-man crusade - to rid the world of Malware, one PC at a time!!
